(PRESS RELEASE) ROCKLIN, CA — Adding to its selection of chicken, beef, fish and turkey treats, all-natural dog treat manufacturer Campfire Treats introduces a new line of Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P.) certified pork treats for dogs.

The first two products of the new line, available now, are pork jerky and pork liver. Both products are single-ingredient treats made of 100% U.S. pork and are entirely free of any additives, preservatives, antibiotics and growth hormones; and are independently audited for robust animal welfare criteria including gestation-crate free production.

“We are thrilled to partner with a local sixth-generation family farm to offer a brand new line of animal welfare certified pork treats for dogs. This gives our customers an even broader selection of products made from ethically sourced meats,” says Campfire Treats’ President and Co-Founder Marko Wittich.

Campfire Treats has selected Global Animal Partnership – one of the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare food labeling programs in North America – for the third-party certification of the new product line. G.A.P.’s Animal Welfare Certified labeling system is also recognized by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) through its Shop With Your Heart  program that connects consumers to more humane options in the marketplace.

“We applaud Campfire Treats’ commitment to farm animal welfare and are thrilled to recognize their welfare-certified products through the ASPCA’s Shop With Your Heart program,” says Nancy Roulston, senior director of corporate policy & animal scientist, ASPCA Farm Animal Welfare. “Despite widespread public concern about the impact of factory farming on animal welfare, the environment and public health, the majority of meat, egg and dairy products come from animals housed in these inhumane facilities, including animal ingredients used in pet foods. Campfire Treats’ welfare-verified products give pet owners an alternative that is aligned with their compassion for animals.”

Committed to expanding its new pork product line, Campfire Treats will be adding new pork treats and chews to its offerings during the first quarter of 2023.
