(PRESS RELEASE) EVANSVILLE, IN — Earthborn Holistic Pet Food participated in Earth Day through its social media ambassador campaign. This was the 5th annual campaign where Earthborn Holistic ambassadors create Earth-focused social media posts, and for every comment on its post within 24 hours, Earthborn Holistic will plant a tree. For Earth Day 2024, this campaign ended with the planting of approximately 25,000 trees. The campaign was a great way to bring awareness to the brands’ UPCs for Trees program and plant even more trees.

Through the brands’ UPCs for Trees program, Earthborn Holistic partners with Trees for the Future to plants trees in deforested areas around the world. Customers collect UPCs from empty bags of Earthborn Holistic products and return them to local participating retailers or mail them in to a designated collection site. In return, trees are planted to create forest gardens worldwide. One returned UPC equals one tree planted. “Since 2009, we’ve planted over one million trees through our program and helped put over 3,500 people on the pathway out of hunger and poverty.” said Brandi Kramer, Midwestern Pet Foods marketing coordinator.

“We are so grateful for this amazing community of ambassadors who share our same passion for the environment. They get just as excited as we do and always come up with unique and creative ways to engage with its audience to make this annual campaign a success.” said Diane Nicholas, Midwestern Pet Foods digital marketing director.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
