Guardian Releases Bars to Feed Pups on the Go

Patent pending product ready to disrupt how pets are fed.

(PRESS RELEASE) Guardian Pet Food Company has launched an innovative pet food in a highly digestible, convenient and portable bar. Guardian’s MoRE Canine Food Bar (a play off of “Meal Ready to Eat”) is a complete and balanced day’s worth of nutrition in a 2-ounce freeze-dried bar.

“We are very excited to be distributing Guardian in our East Coast markets,” said Antoine Seailles, market strategy manager at Pet Food Experts. “Guardian’s MoRE bars are a unique product, that gives pet parents the ability to feed raw “on the go.” This partnership gives our independent retailers a new option for active, raw feeding pet parents.”

Independent third-party labs confirmed in vivo digestibility of greater than 90 percent (compared to industry average of just below 80 percent) as well as a nutrient dense 6,100 kcal/kg (industry average 3,500 for kibble and averaging less than 1,300 for “freshly prepared” meals).

“We created our MoRE Bars using only ingredients from nature so it could be easily digested by dogs and cats” said Dr. Ryan Yamka, co-founder and COO. “With targeted nutrition, dogs and cats will eat less and, in turn, put less out as waste.” Less waste is the genesis behind Guardian’s “Give us a week and we’ll give you back your yard!” campaign.

“We set out to create a different kind of pet food and to be a different kind of pet food company,” said co-founder and CEO Jim Galovski. “We focus on nutrition, not ingredients. We make products that address pet owner concerns like obesity, digestibility and convenience. Through our partnership with TerraCycle and B-Corp, we’re also taking on broader industry issues like sustainability and transparency.”

Guardian’s MoRE Canine Food Bars have an SRP of $4.99/2-ounce. bar. The company’s Whole Prey Treats for Dogs, a freeze-dried multi-component treat (available in Beef, Chicken and Turkey flavors) has an SRP of $8.99 for a 2-ounce pouch. Guardian’s products are distributed through Pet Food Experts and sold at independent pet specialty stores and on Guardian’s website, guardianbars.com.

Carolina Pet Company Continues to Honor America’s National Parks with Pendleton Pet Collection

(PRESS RELEASE) Carolina Pet Company, the exclusive licensee of the iconic Pendleton Woolen Mills “Pendleton Pet Collection,” announces a new email and social media campaign highlighting a different National Park throughout the course of the year. This campaign will be promoting its Pendleton Pet National Park Collection with a feature story every month starting with Mount Rainier National Park in Washington state and traveling across the country ending the campaign by featuring Acadia National Park in Maine later in the year.

The National Park Pet Collection was developed by Carolina Pet, inspired by the colors and design elements of Pendleton’s home collection. The iconic patterns are scaled to fit pet beds, collars, leashes and jackets that compliment Pendleton’s home assortment. The collection calls on the inspiration of eight popular National Parks, plus two color ways from Pendleton’s Camp Collection. The National Park Foundation receives a royalty from the purchase of Pendleton National Park Products.

“Carolina Pet is proud of being part of this effort to help protect these American Treasures, our National Parks,” says Carolina Pet owner Edward Bobowski. Pendleton and partners of the NPF have donated more than $700,000 so far to support critical restoration projects in our National Parks.

Together with Pendleton Woolen Mills, Carolina Pet has launched the Westerley Pet Collection paying homage to the cult classic movie the Big Lebowski staring Jeff Bridges (“The Dude”) who alternates scenes changing from his bathrobe to the time-honored Pendleton Westerly sweater. The pet collection, consisting of the iconic sweater, a matching collar, leash and snood, also includes Bowling Ball and Bowling Pin toys. Re-branded by Carolina Pet as the Big LeBARKski Collection, the line has resonated with the movie’s fans and its twenty-year anniversary. “The Dog Abides”

Bark Your Biz Announces Entrepreneur Lineup for Global Pet Expo Program

Entrepreneur elevator pitch competition to feature nine company founders.

(PRESS RELEASE) Bark Your Biz, the first and only entrepreneur pitch competition exclusively for the pet care industry, has closed applications and announced the lineup for this year’s live program at the 2019 Global Pet Expo.

The event takes place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room W306A at the Orlando Convention Center.

Bark Your Biz was created by and is hosted by Anthony and Amanda Bennie, the 22-time award-winning founders of Clear Conscience Pet. The program is sponsored by Clear Conscience Pet and its SuperGravy brand of holistic instant pet food topper gravy and broth mixes.

Bark Your Biz gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to present their products or services in a three minute elevator pitch to a panel of pet industry experts. The “Barkers” will be questioned about their products, branding, and market strategy by the panel. Three winners will be selected among the contestants based on Pitch, Product, and Market Potential. Global Pet Expo Announces Biggest Show to Date

With the largest annual industry event set to kick off on March 20, officials report more exhibitor booths than ever before.

(PRESS RELEASE) STAMFORD, CT – American Pet Products Association (APPA) Executive Vice President & COO Andy Darmohraj announces that this year’s Global Pet Expo has sold a record number of booths making it the largest show to date. Darmohraj is also excited to report the Boutique, Natural Pet and What’s New! special sections on the show floor have also sold out weeks prior to the show. Global Pet Expo is set to take place March 20-22, 2019 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

“The Global Pet Expo team works tirelessly all year long to continue making this Show the pet industry’s premier event,” said Darmohraj. “The fact that our show floor will be the largest to date, further solidifies the significance of this show and that it truly is the must-attend industry event of the year.”
