The company has filed for a patent.

IBM has developed the concept for a drone that can take care of pets, Fortune reports.

The technology giant recently applied for a patent on the invention.

It would have various sensors and features designed specifically for the task. It would, in theory, “properly feed, train, and prevent dogs, cats, and other domesticated pets from tearing up the house while owners are away,” according to Fortune.

It would, for example, be able to voice praise or commands, and it could even provide treats via an on-board dispenser.

It’s not yet known whether IBM will actually follow through with creating the drone. A spokesperson for IBM told Fortune that the patent is likely to be granted in coming weeks.
