(PRESS RELEASE) LAS CRUCES, N.M. — The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA) congratulates this year’s winners of the Pet Care Business Excellence Awards, nicknamed the IBBYs. Presented at IBPSA’s annual conference, The Forum, which was held September 21-23 in Iselin, New Jersey, the IBBYs are awarded to individuals or organizations that demonstrate excellence in areas such as vision and leadership, animal welfare, company/employee culture, customer service, community involvement and an ongoing commitment to learning, growth and development.
“The IBBY Awards spotlight the best pet care service providers in our industry,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, Founder & CEO of IBPSA. “They have become highly sought-after, prestigious awards that not only recognize quality of services but also how the business positively impacts their community, employees and the pets in their care.”
Recipients of this year’s IBBY Awards include:
- Small Facility Business Award (1-15 employees): the winner of this category is Aly’s Puppy Boot Camp, a dog boarding and training facility located in Arroyo Grande, California.
- Medium Facility Business Award (16-49 employees): the winner of this category is Luckydog Day & Night Care, an award-winning boarding, training and enrichment facility in Springfield, Oregon.
- Large Facility Business Award (50 or more employees): the winner of this category is ABC Pet Resort & Spa, a boarding, training, and grooming facility in Houston, Texas.
- Independent Provider Award: Granted to pet care services individuals or businesses who work alone or who do not have a brick-and-mortar location, this year’s winner is Noosa Country Cat Lodge, providing luxury cat boarding at their home in Queensland, Australia.
- Industry Partner Award: The winner of this category is K9Grass by Foreverlawn, provider of premium synthetic grass for boarding facilities, dog parks, veterinarians, and homes.
- Industry Leader Award: This award recognizes individuals and organizations who have made outstanding efforts to improve the pet care industry through humanitarian or animal welfare efforts and/or education and industry development. This year’s winner is Steven & Jason Parker, co-founders of K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotels, a franchise with more that 177 locations across the United States.
To be considered for an IBBY Award, individuals and organizations must first be nominated by their fellow IBPSA Members. The IBPSA IBBY Selection Committee then requests a video be submitted by nominees; following review and scoring of these videos, up to three finalists are chosen from each category. Finalists are presented alongside award winners at IBPSA’s annual conference. In addition to nominating pet care service providers, IBPSA Members may also nominate up to three industry Vendor Partners who they believe are among the best allies for the pet care industry.
