The expansion into the pet industry was a natural transition for the two Marcoot sisters, from their seventh-generation dairy farm. Woman-owned, Dog-O’s was inspired by the two sisters, their lifelong best friend and business partner Audie Wall and their dog Tiny. (Tiny is the dog featured on every package of Dog-O’s) This trio drew inspiration from their lifelong love of their pets and their passion for farming and producing the highest quality cheese for people and families across the U.S.

“We love that for seven generations we have been able to work together as a family to grow our business, to care for our Jersey cows, and continue sustainable farming so the next generation can continue this legacy,” says Beth Marcoot Young, co-owner of Marcoot Jersey Creamery. “We are extremely proud of our farm to fork business concept and we work hard every day to ensure we make excellent products for our customers. We appreciate their support of the pet industry distributors and retailers that believe in our products as much as we do, and will continue to work hard to be sure that we earn their trust.”

Beth’s sister and co-owner of Marcoot Jersey Creamery Amy Marcoot adds, “We love that our customers can come to our farm six days a week and see the process from the cow eating the grass in the pasture to making cheese! As an artisan company, Dog-O’s is made with the same care and consideration that our cheese for humans is made. We evaluate every batch to ensure excellent quality before it’s packaged and sold or shipped. The same holds true as we look to continue to grow the Dog-O’s line and we are excited about a pipeline of new products and new flavors coming soon!”

Dog-O’s inaugural product, Cheesy Chompers, are available now in two sizes: Small Dog and Medium/Large Dog, with plans for further expansion and development of the brand in the very near future. There is also a bulk pack available which is great for multiple-dog households or for pet-parents with larger dogs.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
