“We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Marvin Goldman, a founding member and visionary leader in the Pet Product Industry. Throughout his illustrious career, Marvin played a pivotal role in shaping our industry, introducing groundbreaking ideas, and inspiring countless professionals.
As one of the founders, owners, and the original driving force behind Penn-Plax, Marvin revolutionized the lives of millions with his countless inventions that have become household staples for pet owners worldwide. Holding over 30 patents, some of his most iconic creations include the 3-stage filter media cartridge used in every hang on filter today, the modern-day fish net, floating and stationary aquarium thermometers, the first line of realistic plastic aquarium plants the famous air-operated aquarium ornaments, hamster tubes and balls, dual-compartment water and food bowls, cat litter liners, and many more. His dedication and passion for the field were evident in every endeavor he pursued.
He has been quoted saying, ‘Hard work pays off so always do what you love, inspire the young and work with style and integrity.’
The loss of Marvin leaves a profound void in our industry, but his legacy will continue to guide and inspire us for generations to come. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the Goldman family, the Penn-Plax team, their friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
