WOODBURY, MN – Pet Evolution plans to open 15 to 20 stores across several states this year.

In 2022, the pet supply retailer opened two new stores in Minnesota, one in St. Cloud and one in Blaine. In 2023, the company plans to open three additional stores in Minnesota and others in Frisco, TX; Irvine, CA; Mill Creek, WA; Naples, FL; Houston; Maryland; Virginia; Colorado; and other states. Pet Evolution is also targeting Colorado, North Carolina, Ohio and New Jersey for future growth opportunities, according to a press release.

“We are so excited to see what 2023 has to hold for Pet Evolution,” said Peter Carlson, president of Pet Evolution Franchising LLC. “With our main goal focusing on opening new locations across the country and expanding outside of our home state of Minnesota, we are looking forward to bringing our services to pet owners in new communities across the country.”

More from the release:

Pet Evolution’s plans for expansion come at a time when the pet industry is at an all time high. Entrepreneur lists that pets will be one of the top 10 franchise trends for 2023. No matter the economic conditions of the country, pets continue to be a priority of spending. In fact, Morgan Stanley projects the pet industry to explode to $257 billion by 2030, growing almost three-fold from the current market of $125 billion.

To assist with its growth, Pet Evolution is actively seeking single, multi-unit and regional development franchise partners. While they encourage those with franchise experience to apply, their approachable system is designed to accommodate first time franchisees as well. Above all else, Pet Evolution is searching for partners that they have a love for animals. Including the franchise fee, the initial investment for a Pet Evolution location ranges between $498,500 to $676,550.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
