Can-Pet will be PetGuard’s distribution partner in Eastern Canada. The firm serves independent pet stores throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime provinces. For 40 years, Can-Pet has developed long-term relationships with both its customers and vendors as business partners working together toward a shared success. According to PetGuard management, these new partnerships mean that retailers will find it easier than ever to offer customers this line of super premium, grain-inclusive foods.

In related news, the company recently hired Bianca Tabone as Eastern Canada territory sales manager. In addition to collaborating with Can-Pet sales and service associates, Tabone will be responsible for conducting training sessions, building rewarding customer relationships and introducing thousands of Canadian pet owners to the PetGuard brand. Prior to joining PetGuard, Tabone was territory sales manager for Ontario and Montreal at Bold Canine. She also previously served as sales associate at Pet Valu Richmond Hill.

“These past few months have been very exciting for PetGuard, as we recently debuted our refreshed packaging,” comments Tim Siedlaczek, director of sales at PetGuard. “It seems that the timing couldn’t be better for us to join forces with TDL and Can-Pet, and to welcome Bianca to our team. We look forward to further expanding our footprint and making a splash in the Canadian market.”

PetGuard was one of the first companies to offer consumers limited-ingredient, all-natural and well-balanced diets made with real meat, no artificial preservatives and healthy grains. While the brand has a fresh, new look to every item in its line, the quality of their tried-and-true formulas remains the same. Local retailers interested in stocking and selling PetGuard are invited to contact their Can-Pet sales representative.

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
