(PRESS RELEASE) There’s a new pet product on the market that will take your dog’s sleep and resting space to the next level of comfort. The Dog Pillow Company has launched a line of pillows for dogs that have been specifically designed with your pet’s comfort and security in mind.

The average dog sleeps for approximately 12 to 14 hours per 24-hour cycle. However, puppies, who expend a lot of energy playing and exploring, may need as much as 18 to 20 hours. Older dogs also tend to need more rest, as do certain breeds.

“Many surveys show the vast majority of American dog owners consider their pets on par with family members, so it’s only natural that we want our dogs to feel like they’re one of us,” states Paula Savarese, president and founder of The Dog Pillow Company, “I have been a pet owner for many years and have noticed overtime that my dogs love to rest their heads on something comfortable, just as we do. At The Dog Pillow Company, your dog’s comfort is at the heart of our business.”

The Dog Pillow Company was created by founders, Paula Savarese and Dawn Ward, after they realized that their dogs loved to rest and cuddle with anything that wrapped around their chin and raised their heads just enough to be comfortable. The company has designed every pillow to do just that. In addition to enhancing your pet’s sleeping space, these unique dog-shaped pillows make a great calming companion for canines who suffer with anxiety. It’s also a great familiarity item to pack for your dog during travel or boarding as well.

There are currently four pillow styles to choose from: Beige Dog Pillow with Heart Eye ($12.95), Brown Dog Pillow with White Paws ($14.95), Grey Dog Pillow with Heart Eye ($12.95), Grey Dog Pillow with White Paws ($14.95). All of the pillows are made from premium polyester/double core fiberfill with a soft, plushy exterior. They are anti-allergenic and machine washable.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
