Pet Business Looking at ‘What’s Next’ After Devastating Fire

It’s moving forward after receiving extensive community support.

Metro Pets, a dog grooming business in downtown Natick, MA, is making a comeback after being ravaged by fire on July 22.

Owner Jill Hourihan and her four employees found temporary space and are now looking for a permanent space, the Boston Globe reports. She’s also looking to provide in-home grooming.

“I have received support of all kinds: from my fellow merchants, from my customer network, even from my insurance company,” Hourihan told the newspaper.

She said it’s “time now to look at what’s next, to constructively move forward.”

The 13,000-square-foot building, which was destroyed by the eight-alarm fire, housed seven other businesses. The blaze started in a restaurant within the building.

The cause of the fire is listed as “undetermined, but not suspicious.”
