WE ARE A pet supply store and a pet-friendly coffee shop. Our signage clearly states that. We even have a sign right on the door that says “pets welcome.” Our window displays are all dog-centric, so what we do is very obvious. We had a lady walk in one day. She started heading to the coffee shop side and saw two of our dogs just hanging out. She huffed, turned on her heels and stated quite loudly as she started heading out, “Well! I’m allergic to dogs!” I don’t know where we sent a mixed message that there would be no dogs on the premises, but apparently that is what she expected! — Wendy Megyese, Muttigans, Emerald Isle, NC
