Delta: Pet Flights Website Is a Scam

And the airline says the site is part of a broader enterprise.

Delta Air Lines says a site called DeltaPetTransit.com is a scam designed to fool users into believing they’re doing business with the real Delta, The Associated Press reports.

The operators of the site purport to arrange for air transportation for pets, but after collecting money, they don’t follow through, Delta claims in a federal lawsuit.

And Delta says it’s discovered, through an investigation, that the scam is linked to a broader operation. Other sites sell dogs that do not actually exist and, after the money is collected, the operators “demand still more payments for ‘mandatory’ insurance, vaccines, permits, and other ‘required fees,'” Delta states in court documents.

Delta continues to investigate the alleged scheme with the goal of identifying the site operators and naming them in its legal action, The Associated Press reports.
