(PRESS RELEASE) STURTEVANT, WI — Andis Company, a leading manufacturer of handheld grooming tools and education for the professional groomer, announces Nathan Austin as the latest addition to its Global Education Team. Now consisting of 25 educators across three continents, the Grooming Global Education Team could not be more thrilled to welcome Nathan.

“It’s always a joy to add such incredible talent to our roster, particularly someone as talented as Nathan,” said Nicole Kallish, manager of Animal Education at Andis. “As an accomplished groomer and breeder, Nathan will add even more energy to our world-class team. We’re excited to see what he accomplishes with this opportunity.”

Beginning his career in Fremont, California in 2007, Nathan never expected his love for dogs to shape a life that led to opening his own grooming salon in Oakland 12 years later. As a long-time Andis user, Nathan remarked that “Andis is the first and only clipper company that has always been reliable and an absolute workhorse. I have been using Andis clippers since 2007 and will use this platform to teach as well as to bring groomers together.”

Nathan is a member and a Certified Master Groomer with NDGAA (National Dog Groomers Association of America), San Francisco Bay Scottish Terrier Club, and Scottish Terrier Club of America. Nathan and his wife breed and show Scottish Terriers and are extremely passionate about working with the American Kennel Club. He is also an Open Level competitor, and in 2022, he was nominated for Up-and-Coming Groomer of the Year and was awarded Best All-Around Groomer at Groom Expo West. Additionally, Nathan was voted the Liz Paul influencer of the year and has received the following Barkleigh Honors: Best Educational Video of the Year, Best Entertainment Video of the Year, Instagram of the Year and AKC Master Groomer of the Year.

Speaking on joining the Education Team, Nathan said, “I am overjoyed to be joining the Andis Education Team. As someone who has used Andis product throughout the entirety of my career, I am honored to be joining the brand I trust and believe in the most to continue to share my craft and help educate others. I am hoping to use my new role as an Andis Educator to elevate the grooming industry to a higher standard, ushering in respect for groomers and the industry at large.”

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
