Green Juju DoggyBiome Challenge Offers Pet Parents the Chance to See the Impact of Feeding Fresh

This collaboration raises the bar for giving pet owners transparency when it comes to making decisions for their pet’s health.

(PRESS RELEASE) SEATTLE, WA — Green Juju and AnimalBiome this week announced a new collaboration that invites pet parents to see firsthand the positive effects that feeding plants can have on a dog’s microbiome and overall gut health.

Pet parents can participate in the Green Juju Microbiome Challenge by purchasing Green Juju’s Freeze-Dried Just Greens Blend — or one of Green Juju’s frozen vegetable blends to use as a food topper — and two DoggyBiome & GreenJuju Microbiome Challenge Gut Health Tests to assess their dog’s gut health before and after a month of using the Just Greens Blend.

Scientific research points to the resounding benefits of plant-based fiber on dog gut microbiome diversity and function. Beneficial gut bacteria break down fiber in the intestinal tract and in doing so, release important molecules that are essential for optimal health. Increased fiber is associated with reduced risk for inflammatory diseases, digestive issues, skin disorders, and other microbiome-associated health problems.

DoggyBiome’s Gut Health test analyzes the bacteria in a dog’s stool and reports a detailed analysis of the health of the gut microbiome. Before-and-after testing helps pet parents better understand how the Just Greens Blend of dandelion greens, kale, parsley, celery, ginger and turmeric benefit their dog’s health.

Since 2014, Green Juju has been an industry pioneer in organic pet food supplements, making it easy for pet parents to add fresh food to the bowl. Just Greens combines plants such as dandelion greens, kale, parsley, celery, ginger and turmeric to make an easy and convenient way to add fresh food to any diet.

“We are so excited about this collaboration because pet parents can see with their own eyes the difference that a thoughtful diet can make,” Green Juju founder Kelley Marian said. “AnimalBiome is doing amazing work, and their research reinforces our ‘feed fresh’ philosophy. I know customers will see the difference, and they will feel great about the decisions they’re making for their pets’ diets.”

Since starting in 2016, AnimalBiome has tested the GI tracts of almost 50,000 pets leading to the world’s largest microbiome database with invaluable knowledge for product recommendations leading to an abundance of healthy microbes.

“This collaboration raises the bar for giving pet owners transparency when it comes to making decisions for their pet’s health,” shares AnimalBiome’s CEO Carlton Osborne. “Green Juju is an innovative company whose products align our scientific understanding of how diet impacts a dog’s overall health by way of the gut microbiome.”

Green Juju and AnimalBiome are selling co-branded DoggyBiome and Green Juju Microbiome Challenge Gut Health test kits and additionally, Green Juju’s Just Greens Freeze Dried Blend on AnimalBiome’s website. Retailers can order DoggyBiome Microbiome Challenge kits wholesale directly from the website and setting up a wholesale account. They can then sell them in-store along with Green Juju products they already carry.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
