IBPSA Teams with Animal Policy Group to Bring Legislative Support for Association Members

(PRESS RELEASE) The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA), the trade association for the pet care services industry, announced that it has teamed with the Animal Policy Group to bring additional legislative insight and support for the association’s members. The Animal Policy Group works with organizations to analyze and develop comprehensive policy strategies and the messages to communicate these viewpoints. As the pet care industry has grown so, too, has related legislative action, particularly at the state level of government.

“To advocate for the smartest pet safety and business success, IBPSA provides legislative support to our members by helping educate lawmakers on the intricacies and realties of the industry,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, the association’s CEO and founder. “The Animal Policy Group takes our legislative knowledge and ability to provide support to the next level with their peerless expertise in government relations and animal welfare.”

With the Animal Policy Group’s guidance, IBPSA is currently monitoring thirty-one bills across the United States. The proposed state bills include, among others: pet grooming service regulations; acts defining what constitutes a commercial kennel; pet boarding facility regulations; sales and use tax on animal services; and licensure of dog trainers.

“The Animal Policy Group is excited to work with IBPSA,” said Mark Cushing, the group’s CEO and founder. “Their dedication to raising the bar for the pet care services industry and to their members is unparalleled, as is their commitment to helping ensure legislation is based on an educated, full picture knowledge of the industry and how the legislation could impact pets and the businesses that care for them.”

In April, IBPSA will launch a new regular update on policies and politics featuring a roundup of current legislative actions impacting the pet care services industry. To receive updates, visit www.ibpsa.com/get-updates.
