(PRESS RELEASE) The finalists of Petcare Innovation USA’s Best in Show Spotlight were announced last week ahead of the event taking place in LA on December 5-6. The Spotlight provides the opportunity to hear from the most exciting companies in the petcare space currently looking for investment or partnership across pet health, nutrition, and products and services. In December, the start-ups will pitch their innovations followed by questions from the esteemed judging panel to get to the in-depth details of their offering. The winners will then be selected and announced live at the event.
The finalists are:
- Arlo Veterinary, Inc.: A technology and data platform capturing passive and active data from genetics, microbiome, medical records, activity, and nutrition to create a fitness score for pets and
measure clinical and non-clinical interventions.
- Arch Pet Food: Arch is a pet consumable company bridging sustainability and your pets’ wellness through the use of food-sensitive friendly alternative proteins. In short, they take the guesswork out of the equation for new pet owners by offering treats and food that is food-allergen friendly, highly nutritious, and sustainable.
- Baja Naturals: Primary protein source is Giant Kelp, both sustainable and nutritious. Regionally and sustainable sourced protein, environmentally conscious packaging and readily enjoyed by all adult dog breeds even with sensitive stomachs.
- BistroCat: BistroCat has a self-cleaning, automated feeder that is easily controlled through the BistroCat app. Pet parents can monitor their cat’s health while keeping their cats full and hydrated, even when they’re not home. - Breed Science: Their weight loss program helps dog parents manage weight loss. Their software personalizes weight loss programs based on the needs of each animal. They provide parents with all the tools they need to ensure success, including fresh food designed for calorie restriction, activity tracking device, supplements, and expert support.
- Bright Planet Pet: Bright Planet Pet makes 100% plant-based dog treats that taste and smell like real meat! Their product line includes soft and chewy treats as well as biscuits. Their flavors include Better Burg’r, Better Bac’n, Italian Me’atball, and more! Bright Planet Pet is a Women-Owned Business and Pet Sustainability Coalition certified.
- Coda: Coda provides aftercare & cremation (aquamation) services that are designed for the modern pet parent. Coda is better for the environment, more respectful, full service, and tech-powered.
- Maven Pet: Maven Pet’s revolutionary solution combines the cutting-edge capabilities of an advanced smart collar and an interactive mobile application. The collar effectively monitors a wide range of behavioral metrics.
- MI:RNA Diagnostics: MI:RNA is a high traction, high growth, highly innovative diagnostic testing company with a strong first mover advantage in the microRNA biomarker space. Their unique diagnostic test combines microRNA biomarker testing with a powerful machine learning AI model to accurately diagnose early-stage heart disease from a simple blood, urine or saliva sample.
- Moggie: Moggie is a pet-tech data company focusing exclusively on the health of our feline companions. At its core, we employ a custom-designed Bluetooth-enabled cat collar, engineered to house a suite of sensors, including an accelerometer and customised to be well tolerated by cats.
