(PRESS RELEASE) BROOMFIELD, CO – Catalyst Pet, the award winning, revolutionary cat litter brand, is donating nearly 2,000 bags of litter to its rescue partners across the country. This equates to more than 17 tons of the highest performing sustainable litter, which is made from upcycled wood. The donation is the result of the brand’s second annual Buy a Bag, Give a Bag program, in which Catalyst Pet pledged to customers they would donate a second bag to one of their rescue partners for every bag of litter purchased on catalystPet.com from Nov. 28-Dec. 12.
“For the second year in a row, we received an overwhelming amount of support from our partners and our customers for this holiday initiative to support these wonderful nonprofits,” says Catalyst Pet’s Cammie Kaminski. “We’re so excited to be able to offer this extra support, especially at a time when many shelters and rescues are seeing an increase in the number of cats and kittens needing help.”
Catalyst Pet believes sustainability is about more than the environment. It’s about health and justice in our communities. That’s why the litter brand launched a shelter and rescue program in June 2020 to support organizations and people across the country that rescue, shelter, and trap-neuter-return kittens and cats.
“We’re so grateful to Catalyst Pet and everyone who purchased a bag of litter,” says Michele Hoffman, the president and founder of Milo’s Sanctuary, a cat rescue and nonprofit in the Los Angeles area. “With this help, we were able to divert funds for litter to rescue and provide any medical care for three new cats.”
From donating litter monthly and raising awareness about the rescues’ efforts through marketing initiatives, to providing discount coupons to new cat parents and foster parents, Catalyst Pet works with numerous nonprofits nationwide to support them in the ways they need. To date, Catalyst Pet has donated nearly 150,000 pounds of litter. Last year’s Buy a Bag, Give a Bag initiative gave more than 12,000 pounds of litter to our shelter and rescue partners.
“We believe sustainability is about creating change for good,” says Kaminski. “It’s about supporting our community and lending a hand wherever we can. That’s why we started this program and are working hard to continue to grow it.”
