A large dog in caused a stir last week in Bradenton, FL, when he entered a Dollar General store and wouldn’t leave.

Bentley, who weighs 135 pounds, “broke through a gate and walked a few blocks to the store, where he spent a couple of hours browsing,” the police department wrote in a Facebook post.

“Clerks went about their business until they really needed to lock up! Bentley’s Dad realized he was missing and was grateful that the store, and officers, looked after him,” according to the post.

In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
