(PRESS RELEASE) LAS CRUCES, NM — The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA) announces the speaker lineup for the 2024 FLOW Business Conference, taking place from Tuesday, September 24 through Thursday, September 26 at the beautiful Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz. The Conference will launch on Tuesday morning with a keynote speech by Dr. Adam Christman, Chief Veterinary Officer of dvm360 and Fetch Conferences, followed by a variety of sessions on topics including leadership, business and staff management, animal care and more. Registration is now open for the FLOW Business Conference, which will also feature a trade show, networking opportunities and the annual presentation of IBPSA’s Pet Care Business Excellence Awards (the IBBYs).
As this year’s opening keynote speaker, Dr. Adam Christman, DVM, MBA, will inspire attendees to ignite their purpose in life and in business with his speech, “Navigating Success with the Power of Knowing Your ‘Why.’” As the chief veterinary officer of dvm360, an MJH Life Sciences Company, Dr. Christman oversees content strategy and development and serves as the brand voice and personality for the company’s multimedia channels. A charismatic thought leader, he brings wit, humor and authenticity to the stage, as well as to his popular social media accounts, where he enjoys educating pet parents from around the world. He was recently awarded the 2023 VMX Speaker of the Year on Practice Management, the 2023 Bright Minds Veterinary Influencer of the Year and the 2023 Iowa State University’s Switzer Alumni Award. Dr. Christman has been in private practice and shelter medicine for 20 years and currently serves as a member of the New Jersey Veterinary Medical Association.
Following an exciting schedule of sessions led by pet care industry experts, the 2024 FLOW Business Conference will close with a keynote presentation by Joe Calamusa, founding partner of a training and consulting firm called Sales & Leadership Development Group (SLDG). In “You are Your Hero,” Joe will discuss the role that making mission-driven decisions plays in the living autobiographies we write every day. With a goal of teaching and inspiring for the professional fulfillment of others, Joe is a gifted speaker and a Clinical Professor of Marketing and Sales Program Managing Director at the University of Alabama, teaching 1,000 students each semester.
In addition to the programming on Sept. 24-26, there will be two pre-conference sessions on Monday, Sept. 23. Beth Bowers – the longest-active Master Pet Tech Instructor in Texas and the owner-operator of Power to The PawZ, a pet services and education company – will lead a hands-on Pet CPR and First Aid class, teaching attendees over 50 skills to save pets when faced with various emergencies. Ben Day, Risk Management and Safety Manager for IBPSA, will teach a Human and Baby CPR Training course designed to help attendees acquire the skills needed to manage a human medical emergency at work or home. This course will begin with an online portion in August and will equip students with digital course cards that provide certification for two years.
