(PRESS RELEASE) HAYDEN, CO — O.T.I.S., makers of healthy, high-quality, and eco-friendly dog treats, supplements, and oils, has announced it has raised and donated $35,000 to Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Facility Dog Program. The donation comes as the mission-driven Colorado company marks its first anniversary since its founding in April 2023.

“Our company’s first year has made a huge impact on our goal to help dogs stay healthy and to support facility dog programs with every purchase,” said company spokesperson McKenna Cox. “We are grateful for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact and remain committed to supporting dogs, children, and families.”

O.T.I.S. formulates and manufactures a full line of protein-packed treats, nutritional formulas, probiotics, salmon oil, and pet CBD oil – all made especially for dogs. From its Jerky Treats (Bison, Venison, Elk, and Salmon varieties) and Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil to the nutritional formulas targeting mobility, longevity, and anxiety/relaxation, O.T.I.S. products are all-natural and contain no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.

The O.T.I.S. name was inspired by a real dog named Otis with an amazing ability to connect with, calm, and support children healing from trauma. Otis became the company’s chief canine officer and mascot, and the O.T.I.S. product line was launched in his honor, to support the work of facility dog training programs by helping dogs live the best lives. Otis also lent his name to the company’s motto: Overcoming Trauma, Inspiring Survivors.

O.T.I.S. donates one dollar of every product purchased to facility dog programs that help children heal from trauma. Within six months of its launch in April 2023, the company donated $10,000 to facility dog programs. At the one-year mark, O.T.I.S. had raised another $25,000, for a total of $35,000. O.T.I.S. chose Children’s Hospital Colorado’s Facility Dog Program in Denver as the recipient of its first-year donations.

Research shows that animal-assisted therapy can help children heal from medical issues, reduce pain and anxiety, and encourage communication. By supporting facility dog programs, O.T.I.S. hopes that more healthcare providers, families, and patients will become aware of the benefits of these programs, and the demand for its specialized care will increase.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
