(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK – ZuluTails partners with Pets for Vets, an organization that pairs returning military veterans with rescue pets, many of which have been saved from certain euthanasia. The Pets for Vets program provides the pet and vet much needed unconditional love, hope and support. To ensure that these new pets never become lost, ZuluTails has partnered with Pets for Vets to make available the new online smart pet ID. ZuluTails is designed by cyber security experts and pet lovers to provide a safe, fast and secure way to reunite lost pets with their owners.

“We are proud to be partnering with Pets for Vets,” said U.S. Navy veteran Pamela Fusco, president and founder for ZuluTails, “This organization works hard to provide returning veterans with a rescue pet that matches their personality and emotional needs. This creates a loving bond that helps to ease stress, depression, loneliness and anxiety for both the pet and the vet.”

With over 600 successful matches and counting, Pets For Vets helps veterans and pets create new beginnings together. Pets for Vets uses a four step program to unite the right pet to the right vet. In the first step, Pets for Vets volunteers get to know the veteran and his or her personality and needs. They then “interview” the animal to develop a temperament composite that is compared to the veteran’s. In step three the matched animal, if it’s a dog, is trained using positive reenforcement and finally the day arrives when the pet and vet meet, bond and start a new life together.

Based on advanced cybersecurity protocols and technologies, the ZuluTails platform is a pet ID that provides each pet a unique 7-digit UPI (Universal Pet Identifier) that links directly to the pet’s private data profile and offers the ability to communicate with a pet’s owner instantly, securely, and privately without sharing personal information.

“We are really grateful to be partnering with ZuluTails,” says Clarissa Black, founder of Pets for Vets. “Each year over 6.5 million dogs and cats enter animal rescues in the United States, and as many as 20 percent of our returning veterans suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We are working to unite one with the other. We like to say we are helping vets one lick at a time because these pets can help vets with a wide range of problems from mental well-being to gaining a new perspective on life.”
