Health Extension Pet Care has more than tripled the size of its headquarters and distribution center while moving it from Deer Park to Hauppauge, NY.

The company acquired the 55,000-square-foot Hauppauge facility in March. It eclipses the former home of Health Extension Pet Care, which occupied 17,000 square feet of space in Deer Park.

Health Extension Pet Care is celebrating the new building’s grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Sept. 26. Everyone who has contributed to the company’s growth, including independent retailers and pet parents, is welcome to attend.

“This building empowers us to grow in a way that promotes our core strengths: the finest whole food ingredients, slow cooked in small batches, sold in partnership with independent retailers across the country,” said Brad Gruber, president of Health Extension Pet Care. “We are thrilled to serve those retailers and their pet parents from our new location.”

When the headquarters move was announced in October 2018, it was described as an $8 million project.

Health Extension Pet Care is a third generation family-owned company. Its recent awards include an Industry All-Star Recognition from Pet Business magazine, an Editors’ Choice Award from Pet Product News and a Graphic Design USA American Package Design Award. It is also a member of the Pet Sustainability Coalition and working toward sustainable business solutions.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
