(PRESS RELEASE) LAS VEGAS – Jaime McKinley, president of W.F. Young, a global leader in animal health products, such as Absorbine and The Missing Link, was recently named the winner of a Bronze Stevie Award in the Maverick of the Year category at the 19th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, held on Nov. 11, 2022, in Las Vegas.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are produced by the creators of the prestigious American Business Awards and International Business Awards, among other business awards programs. The Stevies are widely considered to be the world’s premier honors for achievement in the workplace.

More than 1,500 nominations were submitted this year by organizations and individuals for consideration in more than 100 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women-Run Workplace of the Year. The Maverick of the Year recognizes the achievements of female entrepreneurs, executives, and employees who have affected positive change on their companies and/or industries.

“I’m incredibly honored to receive this award and be acknowledged for my work amongst such inspiring women,” said McKinley. “So many accomplished women were nominated and it’s humbling to be in their company. Recognitions such as this let us know our efforts have a positive impact.”

Among the qualifications that the judges found impressive were:

In addition to the Maverick of the Year Award, McKinley recently received a CEO of the Year honor from the Katahdin Group, and was named to Pet Age Magazine’s 2022 Power 50 List, while W.F. Young was named one of the Best Companies to Work For by the publication.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
