(PRESS RELEASE) TUMWATER, WA – We Are NDependent, the company focused on products for the Independent Pet Channel, officially announced its affiliation with SeaTrees for the launch of its “Ocean Line” of sustainably sourced Pet Treats. The line consists of 3 Fish SKU’s (Faroe Islands Blue Whiting, Newfoundland Whole Capelin, and Cold Water Pollock Cutlets) and 3 Skins SKU’s (Nova Scotia Haddock, North Atlantic Small Cod Skins, and North Atlantic Large Cod Skins).

“We are really excited to partner with SeaTrees on these single ingredient treats. Every bag of our Ocean Line not only tells the SeaTrees story, but also contributes to their mission of restoring the health of our coastal ecosystems,” said Rusty Hawes, one of the company’s co-founders.

“SeaTrees is stoked to be collaborating with NDependent for their ocean line of sustainably sourced pet teats. We love seeing a brand and its customers committed to protecting our ocean planet, and we’re very grateful for their support as it’ll help us restore degraded kelp forests off the coast of Southern California,” said Michael Stewart, co-founder of SeaTrees by Sustainable Surf.

NASC Media Spotlight

At first it was just an idea: Animal supplements needed the same quality control that human-grade supplements receive. But that was enough to start a movement and an organization —the National Animal Supplement Council — that would be dedicated to establishing a comprehensive path forward for the animal supplements industry. In this Media Spotlight interview, NASC’s president, Bill Bookout, talks to PETS+ interviewer Chloe DiVita about the industry today: Where it’s headed, what’s the latest focus and why it’s vital to gain the involvement of independent pet product retailers.
